First off, let me apologize for scaring the shit out of you with what passes for a headshot of the hermaphrodite right wingnut stooge, Ann Harridan. Now - just what the hell is this? I admit freely to never having watched the Glenn Beck show, nor most of what Fox News runs, but is his show always this useless, unfocused, and puerile? I mean, at least Glenn and I agree that Rush Limbaugh is not entertaining, despite what RNC Chair Michael Steele thinks. Rush is nothing more than a trained mouthpiece, and who better to comment on that status than Ms. Harridan? Beck then proceeds to recount his own experiences as a substance abuser (something he has in common with Mr. Limbaugh) for big laughs from Ann. Was he hitting on her? Trying to rip off a piece of Coulter cooter? I kind of thought so at first, but he comes off kind of gay, so now I'm not sure. I really don't know. The infighting is fantastic, though. Ann didn't want Steele, nobody really defends Rush, they do the "stupid left-wing" thing, they try to pump themselves up, and they dissolve, after Beck weirdly attacks Coulter's point, into a self-referential circle jerk. Wow. It's encouraging to someone like me, and also confusing.
Next up would have to be President O's releasing of the nine legal opinions from the Dark Ages (fall of 2001 - January 19, 2009) in which the Constitutional rights of American citizens were suspended so that now former President Monkeyface could fight a war he believed was going on, shortly after we lost it on September 11 of 2001. During that fight, Dubya's people saw fit to attack Iraq and Afghanistan, but also the rights of several people who may or may not have been guilty - we'll never know. We will never know, you see, because the normal way of doing things got completely suspended in favor of a sort of "through the looking glass" approach wherein we abducted people without charging them, locked them away, and probably tortured them, but you won't know that for sure either, since the CIA destroyed 92 recordings of that sort of thing. Of course, some guilty people will probably go free in the long run due to Dubya's actions, but the GOP is good with that, so long as the losing conflicts get ended on someone else's watch. "Bring it on, History," they say, "people have short fucking memories."
One would have to assume these documents were released today in order to conceal the fact that apparently, in order to be considered for a post at the Obama White House, you can't have paid your taxes. While some of these appear to be fairly nefarious or inexcusable, Mr. Kirk's agreed to pay his, and it does seem like a fairly honest mistake(s). Heh. it just looks bad. Where's the vetting committee on this? Who's in charge of research over there? Myself, I think this could be good thing, spun properly; these people should just say to the press, "Look, I didn't like the way the government was being run during the Bush years, so I'll be damned if I was going to pay them to fuck me over. I'll gladly pony up now."
That could work, yeah?
